OPTOCHROME is an optical reading
system for moving objects and was
designed to provide quality control over
several binding processes:
On "casing-in" machines to detect errors
during the case inserting
process (more than one OPTICHROME
system can be installed on a single
casing-in machine. For example, one to
detect "case" loading errors and one to
detect "book-block" loading errors in the
same product pass. Both of them are
critical points in the binding process).
On "folding" machines a system can be
installed to detect misprinted or misfed
and blank sheets, too.
